YOUR PREGNANCY PHOTOSHOOT - DOCUMENTING A DREAM
Pregnancy can pass by in a blur. I remember it - the excitement when the positive line appears on that first pregnancy test, the weeks after that can be tricky with morning sickness, cravings and finding a comfortable position to sleep in! But those weeks are also incredible; you are growing a whole new person and before you know it they’re going to be here in the world with you. Taking time out to document this body that doesn’t quite seem like your own right at this moment is something that you’ll be so glad to be able to look back on in a year, a decade or even further down the line.
For first time mums, this is an opportunity to set aside time in your diary to marvel at the magic your body is making. For mums who already have children, you can use your session either as some time-out for yourself if you’d like to just focus on you, or you can bring your children with you to capture their love for the baby soon to join the family.

MY APPROACH
My hope is that your shoot will feel like visiting a friend, in fact many of my clients come from word of mouth after people have enjoyed their session and recommended me to people they know! We’ll take our time, chat about anything and everything and all the while, I’ll give you gentle direction and guidance so that together we can create images of your baby’s first home that you can treasure. If you have a Pinterest board of the kind of images you’re dreaming of, I’m here for it! Equally, if being in front of the camera feels a little scary, leave it to me and I’ll guide you through the session and you’ll leave with photos you can’t quite believe are you.

STYLING
I have a carefully curated client wardrobe of items you can borrow to wear for your shoot if you would like; not only does this help to reduce the cost for you but my pieces are tried and tested and sure to make you look and feel wonderful. Whether you want maxi dresses with your arms covered; a top and bottom set which we can position to show your bump; a sheer robe to highlight your shape without feeling too exposed; or relaxed pieces that can be buttoned up or left open; I’ve got it all. And of course your own options are always so welcome, whether that’s a beautiful lingerie set, jeans and a crop top or an item that has a special meaning to you. There’s time for several outfit changes in your session so that your gallery has variety.

IDEAS AND INSPIRATION
If you have ideas about particular shots that you’d love in your gallery, I love it when clients send me a link to a Pinterest board or screenshots of photos from my portfolio that you’d love to recreate in your session. Equally, if you know you want to document your beautiful bump but want 100% guidance on positioning, I’m here for you!
Both of baby’s parents (and older siblings, if they have any) are absolutely welcome to come and join in with the session, or you may prefer to come alone for some quality time to just focus on yourself before baby arrives.

WHERE TO HAVE YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT

My studio is a cosy, comfortable space which I built with photoshoots in mind. It has soft, flattering light, always music playing in the background, a hot drink if you’d like one and is a space away from your day-to-day life to relax into your shoot.

If you’re a lover of nature, an outdoor maternity shoot is a beautiful way to capture your bump. Golden hour, the hour before sunset, is my favourite time to hold these sessions; the light is soft and flattering and it feels like the perfect way to slow down and end the day. I have tried-and-tested spots on the beach, in the New Forest and in various other locations around Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire or if you have a special place in mind, just let me know.

In-home sessions are ideal for mums-to-be who would feel more comfortable in their own surroundings or for those who want to document their home as well as themselves at this stage of life. Cosy moments in the home that’s soon to have a whole new person living in it; there’s nothing quite like it.

Session cost:
Studio maternity session £250
Outdoor maternity session £300 Mon-Thurs / £350 Fri-Sun
In-home maternity session £300 Mon-Fri / £350 Sat-Sun
£100 discount off a newborn session when maternity and newborn shoots are booked together
Your booking is secured with a £100 deposit, with the remainder of the session cost due the day before your session.
